Flight Deck Fist Fights

Posted on Mon May 27th, 2019 @ 2:01pm by Lieutenant Liam Holt

Mission: Wounded Pride
Location: Flight Deck
Timeline: MD 04

The Sutherland had been underway for a few days and things were settling into the routine, the travel at high warp meant the fighters couldn't deploy however they had staked out a claim on one of the holodecks to allow for training, and he'd been pushing maintenance training on the pilots to make sure everyone was up to snuff before they were needed.

"I'm telling you the port injector is sluggish." A voice boomed from one of the valks.

"And I'm telling you I just finished taking it apart and checking each component. It isn't sluggish, it's operation at peak, and both are balanced." Another voice shouted back.

The argument was enough to draw the CAGs attention, he quickly jumped down from his perch observing the flight deck and headed for the dispute. The remainder of the argument was drowned out by the cacophony of noise on the flight deck. By the time the Lieutenant turned the corner of the fighter he saw one of his pilots and a deck chief both lunge at each other.

Fists flew and the Andorian deck chief got a solid left hook to the human pilots jaw. The pilot hit the deck and rolled a foot flying out and connecting with the Andorian's knee. The jumpsuit glad chief went down and the pair were soon locked into a rolling mess on the deck.

"BOTH OF YOU ON YOUR FEET NOW!" Holts voice boomed. Those gathered watching jumped at the CAGs voice and quickly disappeared, leaving the two scrambling to their feet. "WHAT THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING?"

The two men stood silent, ramrod straight, a small pool of purple below them from the mixture of red and blue blood. "I ASKED YOU A QUESTION!"

"Sir, the Lieutenant implied that our crews didn't know what they were doing if we couldn't determine why the fighter was sluggish." The Chief said.

"And the Chief implied that we didn't know how to fly." The pilot replied.

"Oh I see, this was all over your egos. If we're having a problem with our feelings I suggest you speak to the counselor. Now, I want you both to report to sickbay, once you're cleared you will both be spending the night making sure this mess." He kicked the blood on the deck, "Is cleaned up, then you're both confined to quarters for a week. If this happens again you'll be in the brig. DO I MAKE MYSELF CLEAR?"

"YES SIR." The shouted in response in unison.

"Good, get out of my sight." He snapped back. He watched the pair practically run off the flight deck. "My god their like children sometimes." He muttered to himself as he headed to his office, "and I'm the one that gets to deal with the paperwork."
